For this work, John Williams received an Oscar, and rightfully so. His wonderful, soaring music opens new dimensions in the listener's heart, freeing and uplifting them. The music of E.T.’s flying scene is a breathtaking musical creation in itself, one of the most beloved, significant, and iconic works in the film music genre.
