The traditional opening concert is one of the highlights of the rich program of the Margaret Island Theatre.
This year, the theatre is once again preparing for this soul-stirring concert together with the over 100-year-old National Philharmonic Orchestra. One of Hungary's most prestigious symphony orchestras is a guarantee of the highest quality classical music.
The special feature of this year's concert is that the orchestra's new general director, the Liszt and Kossuth award winner György Vashegyi, will conduct on our stage for the first time.
The first part will be Beethoven, while the second part will feature melodies by Kodály, Dohnányi and Liszt.
The pieces performed during the evening will commemorate the National Unity Day, as this extraordinary concert is not just a musical event but a cultural celebration that connects the past and present, celebrating diversity, and emphasizes togetherness.
The performance of our country’s most prestigious symphonic orchestra is an important part of the summer’s opening.
