May 22–23–24–25, 2026 (Friday–Saturday–Sunday–Monday)
Margaret Island Theatre – Cloister
Jazz, wine, and culinary experiences at the Margaret Island Theatre, in the courtyard of the Water Tower!
Following the great success of 2024 and 2025, the Hungarian Jazz Federation and the Margaret Island Theatre are organizing the JAZZ & WINE Festival for the third time—one of the most uniquely atmospheric events of the season.
The special festival opens on Friday on the main stage with a concert by a refined master of jazz. Two-time Grammy Award winner Kurt Elling is one of the greatest contemporary figures in jazz.
Saturday evening’s headline concert will feature Mario Biondi. The Sicilian-born singer is currently one of the most popular soul and R&B vocalists in the world.
During the festival, emerging young talents from the Hungarian jazz scene will perform during the day, while on Sunday evening, leading stars of Hungary’s jazz world will give a concert in the Cloister.
Opening hours:
During the event, wineries from Hungary’s six wine regions will present themselves and offer their wines for tasting. Alongside the wines, there will be plenty of wine snacks and specialty cheeses available at the festival.
Ticket price: 3,600 HUF per person (free for under 18, accompanied by an adult)
The ticket includes:
- a wristband granting entry to the JAZZ & WINE Festival, valid for all days
- 1 festival glass
- 20% discount on bottled wines purchased from the wineries
- free entry to the Water Tower and access to the exhibition
- The event is free of charge for those holding tickets to the May 22 Kurt Elling concert or the May 23 Mario Biondi concert. Ticket holders can purchase a separate festival glass for tastings at a price of 1,500 HUF each. (Wine tastings at the stands are paid separately.)
The Jazz and Wine Festival, held for the third time, is once again a celebration of the meeting of music and gastronomy, where the flavors of Hungary's outstanding wine regions are combined with a quality jazz experience. True to tradition, the event will provide a venue for the introduction of several Hungarian wine regions, so visitors will be able to taste the country's diverse wine culture in a single location, where all the country's wine regions will be represented for the first time.
The highlight of the 2026 event is the Tokaj Wine Region, whose excellent wineries — the Majoros Estate and Wine Bar, the Espák Winery, the Paunoch Estate, the Harmony (Harmónia) Vineyard, the Mádi A Wine Estate and the Breitenbach Cellar — will bring selected items from their cellars for tasting and purchase. In addition, the Villa Gyetvai and Illés Winery from the Balaton Wine Region, the Gyula Orosz Family Winery from the Upper Pannonian Wine Region, the Kisbaka Family Wine Estate and the Babarczi Vineyard and Cellar, the Nikléczi Gábor Wine Cellar from the Danube Wine Region, the Nap-Völgy Winery and Theme Park from the Upper Hungary Wine Region, and the Vinatus Winery representing the Pannon Wine Region also enrich the offer.
For the second time, the program will be completed by a pálinka presentation and tasting: the award-winning distillates of the Brill Pálinka House will give an insight into the top quality of Hungarian pálinka distillation. The gastronomic experience is completed by wine snacks and cheese specialties, with which the Cheese Angel (Sajtangyal)– Premium Cheese Round is prepared for the guests.
The festival is therefore not only a cultural event, but a complex experience: an encounter with the atmosphere of jazz, the character of excellent wines and gourmet snacks — an ideal opportunity to relax, explore and experience community.
Jazz lovers are invited to a special musical journey on all 4 days of the festival, where both defining and emerging formations of the Hungarian scene will take the stage.
The varied program offers experiences from the delicacies of classical jazz to contemporary sounds, and each concert enriches the event with a unique character and energy.
Among the performers will be Miss Kriss and the Jazz2night formation — Krisztina Gőbölös (vocals), Dr Ákos Dorogi (piano), Róbert Szili (guitar), József Radics (double bass) — who will create the atmosphere of the evening's overture with their elegant, sensitive sound. The Halper Quintet will also take the stage, led by László Halper, with the participation of Zsolt Bér, Gábor Kollmann, Zsolt Kosztyu and János Sramkó, who will represent the spirit of modern jazz with dynamic, improvisational playing.
The sound of the future will be brought by the Tacet Jazz Quintet, a showcase-winning young band, giving a fresh perspective to the genre. During the evening, we can hear Viktor Tóth's band, János Egri Jr.'s trio, and the production of the groove-focused Kuna Tones. István Gyárfás's Cartoon Trio, which presents a playful, creative musical world, and the Horror Monkeys formation led by Árpád Oláh Tzumo, who close the series of experiences with their special sound, contribute to the diversity.

KURT ELLING
Concert
The refined master of jazz on Margaret Island!
May 22, 2026, Friday 20:00 (rain date: N/A)
Margaret Island Open-Air Theatre – Cloister
Featuring: Hungarian All-Star Big Band
Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
One of the greatest contemporary figures in jazz, two-time Grammy Award winner Kurt Elling will perform this summer on the enchanting open-air stage of the Margaret Island Theatre. The American singer’s distinctive, velvety voice, exceptional improvisational skill, and deeply human style captivate audiences in the world’s most prestigious concert halls. At his performances, that rare and intangible magic is reborn again and again—making live music something truly worth, even essential, to experience in person. He brings this magic to Margaret Island as well!
In the Brass Palace – live on Margaret Island!
At his Margaret Island concert, Kurt Elling will present his latest album, In The Brass Palace, released in February 2026. The concert centers around this large-scale musical work built on a modern big band sound, in which Elling realizes a unique artistic vision: the full big band sound is centered around the human voice—not merely as accompaniment, but as the central element of musical storytelling. On the original recording, the WDR Big Band collaborated, while at the Margaret Island concert the richly orchestrated pieces will be performed by the Hungarian All-Star Big Band, composed of outstanding musicians from Hungary’s jazz scene. The program unfolds as a series of dynamic, cinematic scenes, where classic big band tradition, contemporary jazz sound, and Elling’s expressive vocal style meet. In the Brass Palace is both a tribute to big band tradition and a fresh, modern reinterpretation—an expansive, emotionally rich jazz program built on the dialogue between voice and orchestra.
In the Brass Palace is one of the most ambitious projects of Elling’s career: a bold meeting of voice and orchestra, tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and imagination. Grand-scale, expressive jazz—created for attentive listening and deep emotion.
“A big band album has been on my list since my very first record. I wanted this music to celebrate what people love about big bands—the power, the swing, the elegance—while also challenging expectations. ‘My Very Own Ride’ perfectly captures that balance.” (Kurt Elling)

Margaret Island Open-Air Theatre
When the iconic opening of O Fortuna resounds, the audience will know instantly that they are in for an extraordinary evening.
Few works in classical music are as instantly recognizable as Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. With its powerful rhythms, vivid choral writing and unforgettable opening chorus, O Fortuna, the work has captivated audiences around the world since its premiere in 1937.
This special concert at the Margaret Island Open-Air Theatre presents not only Orff’s most celebrated masterpiece, but also its rarely performed companion piece, Catulli Carmina. Together, the two works offer a fascinating insight into the composer’s distinctive musical language, shaped by elemental rhythms, ancient texts and theatrical expression.
Based on medieval Latin and Old High German poetry, Carmina Burana is a vibrant celebration of love, nature, fortune and the pleasures of life. Its powerful musical imagery and dramatic energy have made it one of the most frequently performed choral works of the twentieth century.
Composed shortly afterwards, Catulli Carmina explores the passionate and turbulent relationship between the Roman poet Catullus and his beloved Lesbia. Drawing on Catullus’ surviving poems, Orff created a work of striking rhythmic vitality and emotional intensity. Originally conceived for the stage, it is now most often heard in concert performance.
This rare pairing brings together two landmark works of twentieth-century music and offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience the breadth and imagination of Orff’s artistic vision.

Erika Miklósa is one of Hungary’s most celebrated opera singers and an internationally acclaimed coloratura soprano. A recipient of Hungary’s highest state honour, the Order of Saint Stephen, as well as the Kossuth Prize and the Liszt Ferenc Prize, she has built an outstanding international career on the world’s leading opera stages.
Originally a competitive athlete, Miklósa turned to singing after a sports injury and quickly emerged as an exceptional talent. At just nineteen, she became the youngest soloist ever contracted by the Hungarian State Opera. She later continued her studies at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia and as a scholarship student at Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
Her signature role is the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, a part she has performed hundreds of times worldwide. Appearances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, the Berlin State Opera and many other major international houses have established her as one of the most distinguished interpreters of the role.
Alongside her acclaimed Mozart performances, her extensive repertoire includes such leading roles as Gilda (Rigoletto), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and Olympia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann).
In addition to her operatic career, Erika Miklósa is a prominent ambassador for classical music, appearing regularly as a mentor and jury member in television talent programmes and educational initiatives that support young musicians.
Her distinguished career has been recognised with numerous honours, including the Kossuth Prize, the Liszt Ferenc Prize, the Prima Primissima Award and the Order of Saint Stephen of Hungary.
Vietnamese-born tenor Ninh Đức Hoàng Long grew up in an artistic family and initially pursued acting before discovering his vocal talent. He studied at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi before continuing his education in Hungary as a scholarship student at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he earned degrees in classical singing and opera performance.
He has appeared in numerous concert and operatic productions in both Hungary and Vietnam. In 2017, he made his operatic debut in Bellini’s I Puritani in a joint production of Müpa Budapest and the National Theatre of Pécs. Alongside his operatic engagements, he has also performed in operetta, making his debut as Rosillon in Lehár’s The Merry Widow.
Hungarian audiences came to know him through the television talent show Virtuózok, where he gained recognition for performances of iconic works from the Hungarian vocal repertoire, including the aria “Hazám, hazám” from Erkel’s Bánk bán and excerpts from Kacsóh’s János vitéz.
His achievements have been recognised with several awards, including first prizes in his age category at the József Simándy International Singing Competition in 2016 and 2018, as well as the Star Award of the Central Vietnam Students’ Association in 2015. A Hungarian citizen since 2018, he has become an important cultural ambassador connecting Hungarian and Vietnamese musical life.

The opera of passionate hatred and love!
One of the greatest audience successes of the 2025 summer season was Giuseppe Verdi’s Nabucco, presented by the Margitsziget Theatre in a production directed by Bán Teodóra. As one of the highlights of the 2026 season, Verdi’s monumental masterpiece Il Trovatore will be presented with a world-class cast of international opera stars.
Following its 1853 premiere, the opera quickly conquered Europe’s stages: in Naples alone, it was performed nearly 190 times across six different theatres, while in Hungary it premiered on 31 October 1854.
In the title role, the Margitsziget Theatre will welcome internationally acclaimed Azerbaijani dramatic tenor Yusif Eyvazov for his first-ever performance at the venue. Eyvazov is a regular guest artist at the world’s most prestigious opera houses, including La Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, London’s Royal Opera House, the Paris National Opera and Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu. His distinguished discography also includes Puccini’s Manon Lescaut, released by Deutsche Grammophon and recorded at the Salzburg Festival.
The female lead, Leonora, will be performed by acclaimed Russian soprano Elena Stikhina, one of the most sought-after dramatic sopranos of her generation. Celebrated for her extraordinary vocal brilliance, impeccable technique, and profound dramatic artistry, Stikhina has established herself as one of the most distinguished and admired sopranos on today's international opera stage. She is a regular guest at many of the world's foremost opera houses and festivals, including the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, the Paris Opera, and the Salzburg Festival, where her acclaimed performances have earned enthusiastic praise from audiences and critics alike. Elena Stikhina has appeared alongside Yusif Eyvazov in several acclaimed productions, including Aida and Il trovatore, at some of Europe's leading opera houses and festivals, including the iconic Arena di Verona.

She appeared alongside Yusif Eyvazov on several occasions, including in Umberto Giordano’s Andrea Chénier at La Scala in Milan. Her extraordinary voice and dramatic stage presence have already impressed audiences at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Arena di Verona, and the leading opera houses of London, Berlin, Paris, Munich and Barcelona. At the heart of Il trovatore lie rebellion against oppression, revenge, passionate hatred, love, and betrayal. During the composition of the opera, Giuseppe Verdi was fascinated by the romantic atmosphere of the medieval world and the mysterious spirit of the gypsy camps. From this inspiration emerged the story of the enigmatic troubadour whose serenade ignites Leonora’s heart.
The plot of the opera takes place in Spain in the 1410s, during the civil conflict in which the Count of Urgel launched a war of succession against King Ferdinand I of Aragon, nephew of the late King Martin, who had been elected rather than inheriting the throne. In the city of Zaragoza, situated on the southern slopes of the Pyrenees and at the center of the Kingdom of Aragon, the royalist Count di Luna resides in the Aljafería Palace, while Leonora, lady-in-waiting to the queen, lives in the nearby Sargasto Palace. Manrico, the troubadour, comes from the mountains of Biscay and fights on the side of the Count of Urgel. Count di Luna and Manrico are therefore not only rivals in love, but also political enemies.
At the center of the drama stands Azucena, the gypsy woman, who silently entangles the destinies of the characters and passively drives the love triangle toward tragedy. Within her, the voice of compassion struggles against the ancient tradition of blood revenge that ultimately shapes the fate of all involved.
Yusif Eyvazov is a dramatic tenor, with a thriving international performing career. Additionally, he was recently appointed as the Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, in his home country, where he also holds the title of “People’s Artist of Azerbaijan.”
Yusif performs regularly on the stages of all of the world’s most prestigious opera houses including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Vienna State Opera, Teatro Real in Madrid, Berlin State Opera, Royal Opera House in London, Paris National Opera, Liceu Opera Barcelona and The Metropolitan Opera, among others. The unique sound of his voice, described as “metallic, stentorian and markedly Italianate” (L.A. Times), and an outstanding stage presence have allowed him to combine an active opera career with frequent concert performances. Yusif has appeared on numerous recordings for Deutsche Grammophon including a complete recording of Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” live from the Salzburg Festival and with soprano Anna Netrebko on the cross-over album Romanza.
Highlights of the 2025/2026 season include La forza del destino at the Zurich Opernhaus, concert in Istanbul,Turandot at London Royal Opera House, Tosca at the Opera National de Paris and at the Royal Opera in Muscat, as well as the role of Radames in Aida at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Il Trovatore at the Teatro Real in Madrid and at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste.
Yusif Eyvazov opened his 2024-25 season performing Rodolfo (La Boheme) at Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Calaf (Turandot) in Budapest and Seoul. At the beginning of the year 2025 he performed Otello in Palermo at the Teatro Massimo. He then sang the role of Mario Cavardossi in Tosca at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and concerts in Sofia, Budapest, Paris, Moscow and Vienna. Yusif Eyvazov sang Alfredo in La Traviata at the Royal Opera House Muscat and Manrico (Il Trovatore) at the Staatsoper Berlin. He appeared in Pique Dame at the Wiener Staatsoper, that was highly praised by critics, and Aida at the Arena di Verona Opera Festival. Among others he performed also in Orange, in concert in Berlin, in Thurn and Taxis Schlossfestspiel, in Ljubljana Festival and in Torre del Lago in Puccini Opera Festival.
"Leonora's aria is one of my favourites. It brought me two audience awards in competitions!"
Elena Stikhina is widely regarded as one of the leading dramatic sopranos of her generation. Renowned for her exceptional vocal power and compelling stage presence, she has become one of the most sought-after guest artists at the world's foremost opera houses. In 2017, she made her debut at the Mariinsky Theatre as Salome, after which she joined the company's roster of soloists. Her acclaimed interpretation of the role earned her both the Onegin Russian Opera Prize and St. Petersburg's prestigious Golden Sofit Theatre Award.
Her international breakthrough followed a series of major competition successes. In 2014, she won First Prize at the Competizione dell'Opera in Linz, and in 2016 she received both the Audience Prize and the CulturArte Prize at the Operalia Plácido Domingo Competition. Since then, she has appeared regularly on the stages of the world's leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, the Opéra National de Paris, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Opernhaus Zürich, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, and the Salzburg Festival.
Her extensive repertoire includes the title roles in Tosca, Aida, Salome, Norma, Medea, and Manon Lescaut, as well as Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), Senta (Der fliegende Holländer), Leonora (Il trovatore and La forza del destino), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Amelia (Un ballo in maschera), and Joan of Arc (The Maid of Orleans).
The 2025/26 season features a remarkable series of engagements. She performs the title role in Tosca at Dutch National Opera, the Vienna State Opera, and the Opéra National de Paris; Salome at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Vienna State Opera; Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly at Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Metropolitan Opera; and also appears in The Maid of Orleans, Don Carlo, Un ballo in maschera, and Norma.
During the summer of 2026, Elena Stikhina continues her busy international schedule with performances as Amelia in Verdi's Un ballo in maschera at Opernhaus Zürich, followed by the same production at the Edinburgh International Festival. She performs Benjamin Britten's monumental War Requiem at the Philharmonie de Paris, presents a solo recital at the Museum Moderner Kunst Kärnten, appears as the title heroine in Verdi's Aida at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, sings the title role in Bellini's Norma at the Bavarian State Opera, and concludes the summer as Cio-Cio-San at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.
Elena Stikhina is celebrated for her extraordinary vocal brilliance, impeccable technique, and profound dramatic artistry, qualities that have established her as one of the most distinguished and admired sopranos on today's international opera stage.
OperaWire – Il trovatore, Deutsche Oper Berlin (2024)"Elena Stikhina's Leonora combined vocal opulence with dramatic conviction. Her gleaming upper register and seemingly effortless phrasing made every entrance memorable."
Bachtrack –
"Stikhina possesses exactly the kind of sumptuous spinto voice Verdi's Leonora requires, combining lyrical warmth with thrilling dramatic power."
With her “deeper, dark” (Jenny Camilleri/ Bachtrack) voice is one of the most up-and-coming singers in her repertoire and leads critics to predict that she “will be the Verdi mezzo of the next years” (Maximilian Maier / BR Klassik).

Judit Kutasi, a Romanian-Hungarian mezzo-soprano, is one of the outstanding voices in her field. Her distinctive profile is characterized by powerful interpretations of Verdi and Wagner roles.
The 2025/26 season is marked by several impressive highlights for her: she starts the season with her return to the Paris Opera, where she performs the role of Amneris in Verdi’s Aida. She then takes on the role of Ortrud in Wagner’s Lohengrin at the Hungarian State Opera. At the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, she sings Pauline in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades before returning to the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Amneris. The season concludes with her guest performances as Azucena in Verdi’s Il Trovatore at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and at the Margaret Island Festival in Budapest. On the concert stage, she can be heard performing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at both the Enescu International Festival and with the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM) in the Spanish capital. She also sings Bruckner’s Te Deum with the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra in Bucharest.
Judit Kutasi performs regularly in major international opera houses and concert halls. Following her 2024 debut in Verdi’s La Forza del Destino at the Metropolitan Opera, she returned to New York to sing Amneris under Yannick Nézet-Séguin. The New Year’s Eve premiere of Michael Mayer’s spectacular new staging of Aida became part of the “Met’s Live in HD” series and was shown in movie theatres across the globe. In San Francisco, Kutasi sang Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera and portrayed Ortrud in the new Lohengrin production under the baton of Eun Sun Kim.
Her performances in San Francisco were also featured at the heart of the documentary “Eun Sun Kim: A Journey into Lohengrin” (produced by Elena Park, Lumahai Productions), which was nominated for the 2025 Northern California Emmy Awards. A further media highlight was her television debut in the BBC documentary “Joanna Lumley’s Danube: Europe’s Mightiest River” (Episode 2: Slovakia and Hungary), which presented Kutasi in an interview and in an Aida performance at the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest.
Other milestones of Kutasi’s opera career include the role of Erda in the new production of Wagner’s Das Rheingold under the musical direction of Sir Donald Runnicles at the Deutsche Oper, as well as spectacular performances as Amneris, both at the Arena di Verona and the
Bayerische Staatsoper under Maestro Zubin Mehta, and the role of Azucena in Il Trovatore at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Opéra National de Paris. With great success, Judit Kutasi joined Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov in Umberto Giordano’s Andrea Chénier at Teatro alla Scala Milano in performances led by Maestro Riccardo Chailly, subsequently released by the theater on DVD in a co-production with CMajor.
As a sought-after artist on the concert stage, Judit Kutasi sang Federica in Verdi’s Luisa Miller (CD production by BR Klassik) together with the Munich Radio Orchestra under the baton of Ivan Repušic. At the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, she sang Bruckner’s Te Deum and performed in the opera house’s New Year’s Concert in 2019. She also sang Verdi’s Requiem under Antonio Pappano in Salzburg and Stravinsky’s Les Noces under Kent Nagano at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.
Judit Kutasi was born in Timisoara, Romania. She studied voice, piano and cello at the Colegiul Național de Artă “Ion Vidu” and continued her studies at the University of Oradea and the Music Academy Gheorghe Dima in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, graduating with a master’s degree. From 2013 to 2016, she was part of the Zurich Opera—first in the International Opera Studio, then as an ensemble member. Judit Kutasi was a Walter Sandvoss Fellow of the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2016/17 and has been a celebrated guest artist there ever since.

Other milestones of Kutasi’s opera career include the role of Erda in the new production of Wagner’s Das Rheingold under the musical direction of Sir Donald Runnicles at the Deutsche Oper, as well as spectacular performances as Amneris, both at the Arena di Verona and the

Thus, the Margaret Island performance is not merely a concert, but a forerunner of the journey on which Hungarian musical culture will once again take its place on the world’s most significant stages.

BLACK SWAN
A Ballet Thriller
26 August 2026, Wednesday – 20:00
Rain date: 27 August 2026
Margitsziget Open-Air Stage, Budapest
Set in the era of the original premiere of Swan Lake in 1877, Black Swan evokes a dark and haunting world where beauty, madness, and imagination merge into a powerful psychological ballet experience. The production explores the unsettling reality of the late 19th century — a time marked by overcrowded psychiatric institutions, misunderstood mental illnesses, and cruel, often inhumane treatments carried out in the name of healing.
At the center of the story stands Odette, a young schizophrenic woman confined within the walls of an asylum. In her fractured imagination, she becomes the Swan Queen, drifting freely between fantasy and reality, between memories, desires, and an unattainable future. Neither the solitude of the ward nor the restraints of a strait jacket can suppress the limitless freedom of her inner world. The elongated sleeves of the restraint become the remnants of broken swan wings — capturing the painful moment of transformation: no longer fully human, not yet entirely lost.
The characters surrounding her exist simultaneously as figures from Swan Lake and as inhabitants of the institution. Prince Siegfried appears as a compassionate young doctor striving to heal through patience rather than violence, while Rothbart emerges as the authoritarian professor who attempts to drive out “evil” through brutal medical practices and psychological control. Into this fragile world steps Odile — a mysterious woman dressed in black — who infiltrates Odette’s dreams as the seductive Black Swan, threatening to steal away both her freedom and her imagined prince.
Reality and hallucination gradually dissolve into one terrifying nightmare. Despite every desperate attempt to restore her sanity, Odette ultimately finds liberation not in the physical world, but within the boundless freedom of her visions — in her own eternal Swan Lake.
The production also reflects the emotional struggles of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky himself, whose life was overshadowed by secrecy, anxiety, and recurring depression. In this interpretation, the White Swan and the Black Swan become manifestations of the composer’s own inner conflicts: purity and passion, vulnerability and rebellion. Yet while in the classical ballet the swan symbolizes captivity, in this performance it becomes a symbol of freedom and redemption.
A visually striking and emotionally charged production, Black Swan transforms the timeless story of Swan Lake into a contemporary ballet thriller of extraordinary intensity.
"The triumph of good over evil, of light over darkness."

The energetic and inspiring ensemble!
The London Community Gospel Choir is the United Kingdom’s first renowned contemporary “touring gospel choir,” blending gospel music with various genres including pop, soul, jazz, R&B, and classical music. Founded in 1982, they have performed with artists such as Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Gorillaz, and Kylie Minogue. The choir is known for its funky gospel sound, swing-beat, rhythm and blues, traditional and soulful arrangements, lively choreography, and vocal virtuosity.
Initially, they planned a single concert performed by a 120-member choir before an audience of over a thousand. That one-time event turned into a permanent choir, which has been performing for more than 25 years.
Following the success of their first concert, the choir received invitations to perform on television and radio, as well as at various corporate events across the UK and Europe. The group made their television debut on Channel Four's Black on Black, and The Guardian described them as “controversial, professional, energetic, inspiring and uplifting.”
They recorded a version of OutKast’s “Hey Ya!” with Razorlight, appeared on Will Young’s debut album From Now On, and sang on Blur’s hit “Tender.” They also featured on Erasure’s 1995 album and on Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ 2005 double album Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus. Additionally, they appeared on the tracks “Don't Get Lost in Heaven” and “Demon Days” on Gorillaz’s Demon Days album. The choir has also worked on music with Paul McCartney, Elton John, Westlife, Elkie Brooks, Tori Amos, Drumsound and Bassline Smith, Madonna, Paper Route, Dermot Kennedy, Gregory Porter, The 1975, and Brockhampton.
