The Armenian Berd Dance Ensemble was founded in 1963 in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. This legendary company has graced the world’s most prestigious stages for decades, gaining wide recognition for the exceptional quality of its artistic performance.
Over its 60-year career, Berd has toured in more than 40 countries, given thousands of performances, and captivated over a million spectators. The ensemble’s repertoire includes more than 100 traditional dances — martial, lyrical, ritual, humorous, work-themed, and many others — representing not only the diverse regions of the Republic of Armenia but also the wider territory of historical Armenia. These performances offer audiences a unique opportunity to discover the ancient and distinctive art of Armenian national dance, as well as the history, customs, traditions, and way of life of the Armenian people.
